O Crystal Palace, construído no Hyde Park para sediar a Grande Exposição dos Trabalhos da Indústria de Todas as Nações de 1851, foi inaugurado em 1º de maio de 1851 pela Rainha Vitória (1837 – 1901) e destruído por um incêndio em 1936.
O Clube foi fundado em 1905 logo já tinha vários anos quando o edifício existia.
